Ayelet Malik | Founder

Ayelet is a Founder of Majakka, bringing extensive international experience and a deep commitment to inclusive, compassionate support. She previously lived in Israel, where she ran an early childhood education and rehabilitation centre supporting children aged six months to six years with additional support needs. During this time, Ayelet completed specialised studies in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), DIR/Floortime, child development, and sleep school training.

Prior to living overseas, Ayelet completed a Diploma of Community Services. After returning to Australia with her family in 2024, she founded Majakka and has since focused on building and growing a values-driven organisation centred on safety, inclusion, and genuine care. Driven by both lived experience and professional expertise, Ayelet leads Majakka with purpose, compassion, and integrity, creating a space where people can access meaningful support with dignity and respect.

Myf Dennis | Founder

Myf is a Founder of Majakka, with a strong focus on systems, advocacy, and capacity-building. She brings over 10 years of experience working within the NDIS and disability sector, alongside leadership, mental health, and service design roles.

Myf is passionate about supporting independence, informed decision-making, and cutting through complexity to create practical, person-centred solutions. Her work is grounded in advocacy and a commitment to building systems that genuinely support people to navigate services with confidence and clarity.

Rebecca Oren | Ops Coordinator

Rebecca is the Operations Coordinator at Majakka and began working in support roles from a young age, running camps, volunteering with vulnerable communities, and working as a support worker. She spent more than a decade in childcare as an educator, completing a Music Teaching course and a Diploma in Childcare. During this time, she also planned and ran holiday programs, creating engaging and inclusive activities that supported children’s development, creativity, and wellbeing.

In her role at Majakka, Rebecca supports staff through rostering and coaching while also working directly with participants, particularly those with complex mental health needs. Known for her warmth, empathy, and strong organisational skills, she brings creativity, compassion, and a gentle approach to supporting both participants and staff.

Heather Brix | Case Manager

Heather is a Case Manager at Majakka and a qualified Social Worker with a Bachelor of Human Services. With 35 years of experience in the human services field, she is deeply dedicated to supporting people with care, consistency, and respect.

Heather is known for her strong problem-solving skills and is often the go-to person when navigating complex situations. She values building strong connections and providing person-centred support that empowers individuals to move forward with confidence. Outside of work, she enjoys socialising and spending time with her beloved cats.

Our Coaches

Kate Laidlaw | Coach

Kate is an ACA- and PACFA-registered counsellor at Majakka, offering client-centred support to people of all ages and backgrounds. She works across a range of evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.

Kate values empathy, collaboration, and meeting people where they are. She works alongside clients on their terms, using transparent communication to support meaningful and sustainable change.

Keziah Hendry | Coach

Keziah is a coach at Majakka who works primarily with children and teenagers. He is currently studying Audio Engineering at university and has a lifelong passion for music, which he brings into his coaching practice, along with his life experience, to support creative expression and emotional connection.

Keziah enjoys creating a safe space where participants can explore and express themselves through music and creativity. He also supports individuals through life transitions, such as moving from school to university or navigating periods of change, offering calm, emotionally supportive guidance throughout these experiences.

Odeya Jablonski | Coach

Odeya is a coach at Majakka with five years of experience working within the NDIS, along with over 10 years of experience supporting children and families. Her areas of focus include creativity and emotional support, and she values building genuine, trusting connections with the people she works with.

Odeya has a strong love of art and began training in social work before choosing to step away from formal study to focus on hands-on, practical support. She brings her creative background into her role to help foster connection and create a calm, supportive space where participants feel safe to express themselves.

John Martello | Coach

John is a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach at Majakka with over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. His work is shaped by extensive practice, leadership, and genuine human connection, including 15 years spent team-leading and mentoring students and new workers entering the field.

John believes recovery is deeply personal and looks different for everyone. He is committed to walking alongside people in a respectful, non-judgemental way, supporting them to build hope, identify strengths, and move forward at their own pace.

Zac Pilkadaris | Coach

Zac is a coach at Majakka and a psychology student at RMIT. He has been working in coaching for the past year while continuing his studies and is passionate about supporting people to feel comfortable with themselves and the world around them.

Zac participates in Muay Thai competitions and enjoys a wide range of sports, particularly those involving self-defence. He values creativity and self-expression and brings high energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism to his work, aiming to ensure every client feels safe, appreciated, and able to enjoy themselves.

Alicia Berry | Coach

Alicia is a coach at Majakka and a psychology student with a strong passion for supporting people through life’s challenges. She enjoys working with individuals across a range of ages and experiences and has a particular interest in emotional wellbeing.

Alicia values creating a safe, supportive space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered. Outside of work and study, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching the AFL (go Tigers), and enjoying great food.
